Today, May 15, 2015 is the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. According to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, 126 officers died in the line of duty in 2014.
It is important that we honor the commitment and sacrifice that these officers gave to our country and communities. Fraternal Order of Police President, Canterbury said it best today, "our hope is that our nation will stand up for Law Enforcement and be grateful for us keeping them safe."
I would like to personally thank each and every Law Enforcement Officer within my community and the nation for your continued dedication and service in keeping my family safe. My condolences go out to the survivors - family, friends and colleagues of the fallen officers. These officers gave the ultimate sacrifice and we all should continue to honor them. Please keep these courageous men and women in your thoughts and prayers.
