Florida Private Investigator – Summer Travel Tips
As a Private Investigator in Fort Lauderdale, I have been contacted by many tourists is reference to theft of property or identity theft. Don’t be so relaxed that you let your guard down. Use safeguards when traveling and enjoy your vacation worry free.
- Only bring documents you need. Never bring your social security card on vacation. Only put your name and phone number on luggage tags-never a full address.
- Don’t keep important documents in luggage. Put itinerary, passport, plane tickets, hotel reservations in safe place.
- Watch for pickpockets – keep money in several places and not all in one place.
- Beware of fake WIFI hot spots. Many fall prey to a person sitting nearby luring you in to take your personal and banking information.
- Use the hotel safe, but just remember that you put items in the safe.
- Don’t give information over the phone in the hotel. If you get a call in the middle of the night and they identify themselves as hotel staff and need information – DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM. Go down to the front desk and give it to them in person.
Be smart and be safe during this summer. Don’t be so forth coming with random people on the street, they just maybe scamming you.
If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation and are in need of professional services, make sure the Private investigator is experienced in these types of cases.
